Physical interaction and visual cues

Contextual information that I may need in school or work. For example I can’t ask my online friends to help my with homework since we have different curricula.

Ability to meet in person (when it’s safe again), helping one another out (moving, job hunting, etc)

You can meet them and do things with them and also trust them not to lie about who they are

Physical contact, sharing activities

Knowing me in the flesh

I can spend one on one time with them

seeing each other in person for gatherings, hugs, etc

They are usually in the same city

more shared memories

In-person contact

physical contact (hugs, mostly)

Physical comfort, able to help me do things and offer favors, can attend events with me

they don't exist

Consistent

Physical contact (hugs etc)

Feels more like a friend because they're "tangible" and can be there for me. Can hang out at our favorite places. Easier to learn things about them that they wouldn't think to tell me (things that I can observe directly).

They live close by

I can do stuff in person with them.

Face to face jokes
