Availability

Anonymity, they don't know my family

A different perspective

similar interests

Able to meet more people so have met some very interesting people that I wouldn'thave without internet

Another perspective on the world tgat someone on the same country as me couldn't provide.

We meet over a specific interest, and sometimes it's easier to talk to someone online than IRL

I can be anywhere in the world and talk to them. Also, they usually play similar games.

Well, I am an introvert. The friends I have found online have tended to be introverts too. Quite open to talk to, and flexible. It's easier to talk about issues (at least for me) and sympathize.

Play games with me

More similar interests

I can talk about personal problems with them, I can be more of myself in general

In person contact, like nonverbal communication and physical touch

I get in touch with people because if something that we are both interested in, so I already know that we have at least one similarity.

I’m more likely to share interests with online friends than offline friends

We all enjoy playing the same games

Not much. I consider them the same as my offline friends

complete transparency, not feeling the need to hide anything
