Completely independent from all IRL relationships and responsibilities allowing total openness and honesty which my anxiety doesn’t allow normally. Extremely niche common interests

I feel like I can be more myself with my friends I met online, they know the weirdest sides to me bc of the nature of online. A lot of my offline friends don’t know just how gay and mentally unstable I really am

Unpredictability! Most irl friends you'll see at lunch in class or on breaks or at church, but you never know when your friend will post something or message you.

game with me

Not physical accompaniment

None

Anonymity, third-person perspective, real gauge of who I am and not simply different facets of myself

Similar Interests

there's less stress bc u don't gotta worry about external appearances (as much, anyway) and it makes the few rare occasions that you do actually meet all the more special

No connection with my real life whatsoever

these are people who are friends of mine solely because we are very similar, so we tend to think and feel very alike

Diversity, especially different religions cultures and so on

Sharing things about my life that I might not feel comfortable sharing irl

Higher availability and understanding about availability

they exist, for one.

The ability to chat/'hang out' while I'm doing a particular activity.

More connections based on shared interests or experiences (for example, being gay)

more common interests, hypes me up a lot

Anonymity

similar interests and understanding
